Okay, this really has nothing to do with baking, but at least it'll be a cake in the end. What do you need? Sponge cake base (22Ø) - and yes it's a bought one ;) 2 bananas 200g quark and 50ml cream (I had this left from the day before) 100g cream cheese 2 sachets vanilla sugar 1 sachet cream stiffener Sugar as you like 2 sheets of gelatine 2 egg whites
4 tablespoons icing sugar
a splash of lemon juice
How do you do it? 1. Mash the two bananas in a bowl. 2. In a separate bowl, mix the cream cheese with the quark. Then stir in the mashed bananas. Add a sachet of vanilla sugar and sugar to the mixture as you like. 3. Whip the cream until stiff and in the meantime add the second sachet of vanilla sugar and the sachet of cream stiffener. 4. Lift the whipped cream in the banana mixture. 5. Soak two sheets of gelatine in water for a few minutes and liquidise in a saucepan. Stir the liquid gelatine into 2 tablespoons of the banana mixture and then pour into the remaining mixture. 6. Spread the creme on the sponge cake. Now place the cake in the fridge for at least 2 hours to allow the creme to rest. 7. Now beat the egg whites until they become firm. Add a splash of lemon juice and the 4 tablespoons of icing sugar. The meringue becomes shiny because of the icing sugar. 8. Use a piping bag to pour the meringue onto the creme and flambé. Ready is the simple, delicious and I-don't-like-to-bake-today cake! Isn't it great?
